The Storm will face Saanich Fusion on March 8th for the VIPL title.

Jan 25: Battie Scores Ten-Minute Hat Trick!

A tense, scoreless standoff last week ended in a storm of goals as Karen Battie of the U16 Girls team scored 3 late to defeat Bays United 3-0 in Victoria. What’s more impressive than a second-half hat-trick? How about a ten-minute hat-trick! Battie scored in the 71st, 78th, and 79th minute of the game on assists from teammates Kassidy Gosling, Kaylie Rafuse, and Amelia Kazanowski. A thunderous finish to the regular season for the U16 Girls!

Jan 26: U16 Boys Gain Retribution with 1-1 Riptide Draw

After losing their first two encounters 5-0 and 7-0 this year, the U16 Boys went to Comox with something to prove against the Riptide this past Sunday, and on a foggy day on a soggy pitch, battled to an evenly fought 1-1 draw. The Storm's goal was scored by Daniel Doukakis, on an assist from Goalkeeper David Rankin.

Jan 25: U15 Girls Beat Rivals in Emotional Match

In a game that started in daylight and ended in darkness, the U15 Girls Storm thundered to a decisive 4-1 victory over VIPL rivals Saanich/Prospect Lake in an emotionally charged game Saturday in Ladysmith.

The Upper Island Storm family was saddened this week at news of the tragic death of 17-year-old Ryan Wallace-Tarry, the brother of U15 Girls team member Emma Wallace-Tarry. The deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences of the Upper Island Storm players, coaches and parents go out to the Wallace-Tarry family and those close to Ryan.

Saturday's win solidifies the Storm's first-place position in the League, giving them a 2-point cushion in the standings with only one game remaining in the regular season. The four goals scored by the Storm in Saturday's game are more impressive considering the fact that the Saanich/Prospect Lake team had only allowed 4 goals total over nine previous games this season.
